Kamilari is located in the South of Crete, close to the small town of Mires and three kilometers away from Komo beach. It is surrounded by world-renowned archaeological Minoan sites like Festos, Agia Triada and Gortis. Numerous small and lonesome beaches with cristal clear water are easily reachable from here in a rental car. For more than 25 years now Kamilari has hosted tourists from all over Europe and, nevertheless, managed to stay a cosy and beautiful, traditional Cretan village.
In Kamilari itself and its surroundings, there are small shops which provide the necessary things of daily life and hold a collection of souvenirs to take home with. Three different cafés and four restaurants offer a broad variety of typical Cretan dishes and other specialities. Kamilari is a place for individualists where there is plenty to discover that makes your holidays memorable for years to come. Those who have experienced Kamilari are bound to return. Already today the village has become the second home for a lot of former tourists that have built the houses of their dreams on Crete, together with local craftsmen and construction teams.
